Story Line
Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023) is a superhero movie based on DC Comics characters. It is a sequel to Shazam! (2019) and stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, a teenage boy who can transform into an adult superhero by saying the magic word “Shazam”. In this film, he faces off against three ancient goddesses who seek revenge on humanity.

The movie begins with a flashback to ancient Greece, where three sisters Hespera (Helen Mirren), Kalypso (Lucy Liu), and Lyla (Rachel Zegler) are banished by Zeus for trying to overthrow him. They vow to return one day and destroy his creation: humanity.
In the present day, Billy Batson/Shazam (Asher Angel/Zachary Levi) is enjoying his life as a superhero with his foster family and friends, who can also transform into superheroes by saying “Shazam”. However, he still struggles with balancing his responsibilities as a hero and as a student. He also misses his biological mother, who abandoned him when he was young.

One day, he receives a message from the Wizard Shazam (Djimon Hounsou), who tells him that he needs to find six new champions to join him in defending the world from an ancient threat. Billy agrees to help him and sets out to find potential candidates.
Meanwhile, Hesperia, Kalypso, and Lyla escape from their prison with the help of Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong), who was defeated by Shazam in the first film. They plan to use Sivana’s technology to locate and steal the powers of Shazam’s family members. They also intend to unleash a powerful monster called Tiamat on Earth.

Billy manages to recruit five new champions: Pedro Peña (Jovan Armand), Eugene Choi (Ian Chen), Darla Dudley (Faithe Herman), Mary Bromfield (Grace Fulton), and Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer). However, before they can meet up with Shazam at the Rock of Eternity, they are attacked by Hespera’s minions.
Shazam arrives in time to save them but loses his powers in the process. He realizes that Hespera has stolen his lightning bolt symbol from his chest. He also learns that she has kidnapped his mother Rachel Batson (Marta Milans) as leverage.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is a fun and action-packed sequel to the 2019 film Shazam! The movie sees the return of the lovable and goofy superhero Shazam, played by Zachary Levi, as he battles a new villainous threat with the help of his foster family.
